Everyone would be happy about India’s performance at the latest series of India vs West Indies with the former being the host. India won the series 3-1. Ofcourse it was India’s hometown and home pitch. But something needed to be appreciated in India’s performance – the confidence. But there is also something that is needed to be considered when we think about India’s performance. Those are the players out of form. What should we do about them? Now focusing on some players…
Virender Sehwag:
All the bowlers of the world panic at this name, the name of Virender Sehwag, the boomer of Indian batting line-up. Once he gets into form, there is no way of stopping him. But the main question here is, when does he get into form? This guy needs to get back into form with World Cup just months away. Unlike other aggressive player, Sehwag chooses his shots very carefully (whic
h he failed to do so the last few times). India definitely needs Virender Sehwag for the World Cup and for that he must get into form.
Sachin Tendulkar:
Now I am not saying this guy is out of form. Sachin is a great player and being a senior player, he must bat very maturely. Yes ofcourse, he is doing that. And people should not expect him to be aggressive all the time. Yes sometimes, it happens. The entire burden would be on Sachin then. Believe it or not, Sachin is also a normal human and he can’t stand such burden. Remember, the last World Cup final, where he chose to hit every ball for four and he got out. So people must ease pressure on Sachin.
Mohammad Kaif:
This guy was once thought to be good to hold the captaincy of the Indian team. Ofcourse, he can. But n
ow he has lost his place in the Indian team. Kaif is a player who must be sent in the 3rd or 4th place in the Indian batting line-up. He is a great defensive batsman and can even chase a 300 run score when wicket is at stake. He is not a hitter of the ball and he wouldn’t do so even in the last final overs. Sending such a guy in the final overs in the 6th position is a disgrace to his batting skills. And this guy is also one of the best fielders of the world.
Irfan Pathan:
Now what this guy is doing is wrong. I am a fan of him and ofcourse many are. He is a man who can rattle the top order batsmen and he is also the main strike bowler of India. He ranked 10th in the ICC bowler rankings. He ranked 2nd in the ICC all-rounder rankings. He took a hat-trick in the first three balls of the very first over of a test match. Now should I say more? He must get back into form. The Indian team needs him.
